Harry Kane on the month of February: “We have a lot of tough games: Celtic, Leverkusen, Stuttgart, Frankfurt. We have to be ready and we need the whole squad. There’s a lot to play for. We had a good month [January], except Feyenoord. We have to keep going”.
Jamal Musiala: “None of us are happy that we won 4-3 here. We have to have the mentality to work for 90 minutes and avoid conceding goals.”
Kompany: “It was a pretty complete game until the 80th minute. But we also played against a team that was fighting for every moment. I thought we started the second half really well, but in terms of how we finished the game, that’s something we’ll have to review with the players”
Kompany on conceding 10 goals in the last 5 games: “In the past couple of weeks we had some really good moments but also moments we need to improve. That’s our job. Now we finally have an entire week where we can train. We’re in a good position to do the work”
Kompany on Harry Kane: “He has incredible qualities in terms of scoring goals. I was often asked what was wrong with Harry when he didn’t score – he’s always stayed calm, worked hard and believed in his moments. I played against Harry and am now his coach, he’s just impressive”
Harry Kane on scoring 55 goals in 50 Bundesliga games: “It means I’m doing something right. It’s always expected from a striker to score goals, I’ve been doing it all my career, but I wouldn’t be able to do so without my teammates. Hopefully more to come”
Manuel Neuer: “We played well for long stretches, but we ruined the game a little bit in the end. That’s annoying. We made too many wrong decisions. It’s important for us to stick to our plan until the end. But overall, we got 3 points and that’s the most important thing.”
João Palhinha: “It was a bit of a strange game at the end. We actually wanted to keep a clean sheet, but things got a bit crazy in the final stages. The most important thing today, however, was to win and keep the three points home, and we managed that.”
Joshua Kimmich: “We’re currently lacking the hunger for 90 minutes. It’s not a question of quality. It’s more in the minds. We must not lose our principles. If we lose them, we’re a normal team. That makes us vulnerable against any team.”
Kane on Tel: “Mathys is a great young player. I’ve worked with him for 18 months. He has a lot of potential, works & trains hard. He can still improve, but he has the right mindset. My advice is wherever he goes, he should make sure he gets game time and experience
